My first memory of my anxiety was when I was three and starting gymnastics class. My stomach hurt and my little mind imagined the teacher yelling at me when I made a mistake in front of the class while all the other three year olds laughed at me.
This is often how my anxiety manifests; that I’m not good enough, that I don’t measure up, and everyone is keeping track. That I’m too young, too old, not smart enough, not outgoing enough, too bubbly, not assertive enough, too rule following, not rule following enough. (It also manifests as extreme fear of natural disasters, like Climate Change, but that’s a whole other post 😊)
Thanks to great therapists, coaches, and mentors I’ve done a lot of work around this thought of not being enough. I’ve been exploring new thoughts like, what if my worth doesn’t change based on who I am with or from external validation? What if I’m already good enough without any other thing or person saying so?
I’ve really clung on to the word badass this year, it’s my favorite. 😊I’m practicing speaking truths over myself that don’t change EVER, no matter what my feelings or mind say in that moment. I AM badass & brilliant, and you are too. We ARE good and we ARE enough, no matter what.
Life feels debilitating sometimes, but we can re-train our minds, and feelings are really just vibrations in your body. The journey of mental and emotional wellness is a tough one. But you aren’t alone. We can do this together. 💞
