I am so excited to reveal this to you guys! My friend Sarah Cervantes at Seven Brighter Graphic Design is a legit graphic design wizard. Legit branding genius. I can’t even.
A few years ago when Illuminate Space was born, I couldn’t really afford much, and Sarah was kind enough to point me to Canva and give me a few pointers on creating graphics myself. And Canva is great! I highly recommend Canva. (I still use it for all my Social Media graphics!) However, I just couldn’t get my logo right. Nothing felt exactly magical to me and like, YES, you know?
Illuminate Space has grown the last few years (THANK YOU YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!! ALL THE FEELS.) I decided to reach out to Sarah again and hire her to do my logo and branding.
I told Sarah I liked a little bit classy, a little bit feminine. But that was really all I gave her. Haha. She showed me some pictures and had me pick things I liked and then she got to work.
What she came back with was so magical my heart is pumping fairy dust right now!!! 🙂 I would have never dreamed it up and she nailed it! She drew a house (I do pop-up open houses), with plants growing OUT OF THE CHIMNEY(my mission is to bring new life to otherwise discarded items), AND THE WINDOW IS LIT UP (ILLUMINATED)!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell how excited I am? Like so excited because it feels meant to be, and she GOT me and she got my “little bit whimsical too” that I didn’t even know to articulate. Ah! I love it so much!
Also, on the technical side, it always bugged me that Illuminate was so much longer than Space, so I didn’t like how it looked when I would put the words on top of each other. By making Space the handwriting font, and stretching it out it works so much better! 🙌🏻
And can we just talk about how awesome it is to see it up on a storefront? All the goosebumps. Someday guys, someday. 👊🏻
