Before + After: Living Room

Hi!!!

I haven’t done a Before + After in a while, so what better time to do it then when we are spending lots of time at home!

Here’s the before pictures of our living room when we moved in this summer…

And here’s the after!

Honestly, the hardest thing about this house was the living room. Because of the height of the brick fireplace and the two sets of doors along the opposite wall, we just weren’t sure how to make it work.

But the challenge was tempting, and we decided to go for it! Michael took off the mantle, and made a new one out of a flat piece of wood he sanded and stained. This left just enough room to put our TV above the fireplace. I re-purposed a tall antique door to hide all our cords behind! Michael painted all the trim and doors white.

I love the pops of pink. It is a nod to me being the only girl in the house, and I LOVE that my family was onboard with this!

This has become one of my favorite rooms to be in. I like to curl up on the couch with my journal and coffee and stare outside at the pond and trees every morning. It is my happy place.
