For a long time we had our TV mounted over our fireplace. It was fine. But I hated it.
I love to move around the furniture in our rooms, and by love I mean do-it-as-many-times-I-can-before-my-family-goes-insane. With the TV in one spot, it limited my furniture arranging freedom.
FINALLY, we took the TV off the wall. This has opened up so many more setup combinations and arrangements for our living room that I can barely contain my excitement.

Here’s the thing, I love to to do decor vignettes, and re-arrange rooms, and the like. I DON’T like projects that take hours and hours and days and days. (Which is why we’ve had a half finished stairway for two years). So when I saw the TV mount left to dismantle, I wanted to die a little bit.
My creativity and resourcefulness will protect my laziness any day. Does that even make sense? I don’t know. I just mean I will find ANY possible solution before I have to dive in and do the long, exhausting work. (Which is probably something to dig into in my next therapy appointment…)
I have an old window that I thought would be perfect for about the mantle. Oh my goodness, and it can even hang ON the TV mount, I thought! I knew I’d have to cover the glass so the dreaded TV mount wouldn’t show. I’m obsessed with sheet music and old book pages right now, so I decided on dictionary pages to spell, “LOVE WINS”. (My all time favorite phrase.)

Then I pulled the kitchen barstool over (because why get the ladder out of the garage when you can just ghetto rig the barstool), and started assembling. There was still a border of green paint showing around the window, and you guys, it only took me two weeks to finally paint over it. 🙂

(Oh. The “V” dictionary page does have some female anatomy parts on it. I’m hoping visitors don’t look too closely….but, at least we’re using the correct terminology…)
