Illuminate Space was born because I believe beauty is already there, all around us, we just need to throw some light on it. I love breathing life again into otherwise discarded items.

My love for decorating started with this house. I really didn’t know what I was doing, I wasn’t always a “good” decorator, but I had to work with what we had because we didn’t have much. I started going to thrift stores and searching every clearance end cap to find treasures that I could make into decor, and something new happened in ME; something breathed life into ME, this creative flow that just started coursing through my veins.

You guys, looking through these before and after pictures, I’ve got to be honest, my heart flutters a bit. It’s like standing back and seeing this creative energy come to fruition over the past nine years we’ve lived in this house. And you know what? I’m really proud! I did this. I did this by watching and observing talented artists, and by believing I could be an artist too, and by working with what I had in my hand at that moment.
