PSA for caregivers of littles: the doctor appointments don’t get easier, just funnier.

“Mom, he said I have to get 10 shots in my arm all at once!”
“Mom, they told me the doctor has to cut my balls off today!”
“These are my favorite shorts ever.” (The disposable giant shorts for examinations.)
Nurse with the routine questions for age: “If a horse is big, then a mouse is ____.” When he answers correctly the other two erupt into loud chants, “Ohhhhhhh! He got it! Omg he got it!” (Then rounds of hitting each other ensues.)
“Oh my gosh! Look at all the hair on his legs and feet! He looks like a troll!”
“Gross. You really need to trim your toenails.” “My teeth don’t reach that far.”
But then one brother has a reaction to a vaccine and all the banter stops. You cuddle him like your newborn and the brothers help soothe him. You all swoop in to hold ice packs on his head and care for him, and the brotherly love makes your heart melt.
You still feel sweaty and chaotic post visit from all the things. It’s okay. We will make it. Raising these ones is a marvelous adventure. ❤️👊🏻
